Wat Yansangwararam

Wat Yansangwararam

Wat Yansangwararam is a modern Thai temple located 22 km south of Pattaya. To get there from Pattaya drive south on Sukhumvit Road for about 16 km. Watch out for the blue road sign pointing left to Wat Yansangwararam. Turn into highway 1008 and drive another 6 km.  There are several other buildings of various architectural designs and gardens with lakes spread over 145 acres. It is one of the most visited places in Thailand and a popular destination for Thai people as well as tourists. The complex is open daily from 8am until 5pm and is busy on weekends with large tourist busses full of tourists. No large crowds of people Monday to Thursday.

You can spend several hours walking around this large complex seeing the temples and surrounding gardens. You will need to dressed appropriately (modestly in long pants/dress and no sleeveless top) to be able to enter the temple. You can feed the fish and the large water monitors that inhabit the lake. There is also a museum and restaurant.

Silver Lake is close by and can be visited in the same day.
