Wat Phrasingh

Wat Phrasingh

Wat Phrasingh is a very important temple in Chiang Mai. The monastry has a large number of monks. The above photo shows the Viharn Luang. The official name is Wat Phra Singh Woramahaviharn and it is located in the old city of Chiang Mai where Samlarn Road and Singharat Road join (intersects with Thonon Rachadamnoen Alley). Open 6am until 5pm daily.

The temple complex has a Chedi, Ubosot, Viharn Lai Kham (photo below of smaller Viharn) , many Kuti, a Buddhist library, bell tower, and Lanna style art. One of the photo's below show a thin brass roll where a Buddhist would write down their name and the names of family members for good luck.
