Wat Doi Khao Kwai is located just south of Chiang Rai city and can be reached by tuk-tuk, but part of the road is steep. You will need to get the driver to wait until you return else its a very long walk back to any main road. Allow one hour to see this temple.
There are also many steps to climb before reaching the temple. A magnificent view of the surrounding countryside and city awaits you at the top. This is a relatively quiet temple and not a tourist destination but recommended if you are Buddhist.
